Ica is located south of Lima, on the coast line, is a fertile valley where the famous PISCO was born and has numerous sites to visit , including the also famous Nazca the ballestas islands and the ancient paracas culture Nazca:
Nazca is a valley where the ancient peruvians constructed the most intriguing art on a very large desert canvas: The Nazca Lines, these lines can only be seen from the air and include the well known figures of the spider (fig), the monkey and the hummingbird (kinti).Altitude: around sea level

Paracas:
On the now desertic lands of ica , the Paracas culture developed around 200 BC and 200 AC. These ancient peruvians are recognized for their extremely fine cotton textiles with color pigments that are still vivid after many centures. Some other features of this culture include the craneal deformation as a status symbol and include brain opertations proven succesfull as for the remains found. In paracas you will find a site museum on this culture as well as other attractions on the coast such as the “Cathedral” a rock formation sculptured by the wind. And the Paracas Natural resource which includes the ballestas islands.

Ballestas Islands:
This rock formations are the home of thousands of birds that feed from the reach marine stock of many fish species that live in the paracas peninsula, to name the birds that you will find on the ballestas are the Humboldt Penguin, Guanay Cormorant, Peruvian Booby, Blackish Oystercatcher, Kelp Gull, Gray Gull, Inca Tern, Gray-hooded Gull, Band-tailed Gull, Chilean Skua, Red-legged Cormorant, Peruvian Pelican , among others. Many mammals are also seen here such as sea lions.
