Cusco City - Peru Cusco was the capital of the Inca Empire and, together with its surroundings, is today the principal destination for people visiting Peru. The main attractions are the town itself, the “Sacred Valley” and Machu Picchu, but there are many other very interesting places, where up today the Indian and Spanish cultures coexist.

Designated by Unesco as “heritage of the humanity”, combines the ancient city, the Spanish colonial additions, the modern buildings and amenities in a splendid reflection of culture and tradition. Most existing buildings are erected on Inca foundations.


Sacred Valley:

Sacred Valley - PeruThe Urubamba River Valley, the “Sacred valley of the Incas”, with all his natural beauty and testimonies of Inca buildings in Pisac, Ollantaytambo and other places, is a main destination for those in search of archeological sites as well as nature.

Proposal of Some Programs

There are many alternatives to arrange visits to Cusco, Machu Picchu and surroundings, depending on the interests and the availability of time and budget of the visitors. Kintitur will be happy to attend individual wishes. Here we propose just some of these programs.

 


Cu 01: Express “Cusco - Machu Picchu”( 03 DAYS / 02 NIGHTS )

Starting in Lima, this is the shortest possible visit to Cusco and Machu Picchu

Day 01 :

•In the morning, flight from Lima to Cusco (1 hour), pick up at the airport in Cusco, transfer to the hotel.
• In the afternoon you have a City tour, including the surrounding fortresses of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo and Tambomachay.

 

Day 02 :

Whole day trip (6:00 a.m to 09:00 p.m.) to Machu Picchu: transfer from hotel to railway station, train to Aguas Calientes , bus to Machu Picchu fortress, visit of Machu Picchu, lunch, return by bus to Aguas Calientes and train to Cusco, transfer to hotel.

Day 03 :

In the morning, return flight from Cusco to Lima

Cu 02: Traditional “Cusco-Machu Picchu-Sacred Valley”( 04 days / 03 nights )

In addition to the program of Cu 01, you will have a whole day tour to the Urubamba valley, the “Sacred valley of the Incas”, including visits to Picac, Urubamba, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero, and a third night in Cusco.

Day 01 :

•In the morning, flight from Lima to Cusco (1 hour), pick up at the airport in Cusco, transfer to the hotel.
• In the afternoon you have a City tour, including the surrounding fortresses of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo and Tambomachay.

 

Day 02 :

Whole day tour with bus to the Urubamba valley, the “Sacred valley of the Incas”; you will visit Pisac with its typical market, have lunch at Urubamba and continue down to Ollantaytambo; in the afternoon you return to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 03 :

Whole day (6:00 a.m to 09:00 p.m.) trip, by train to Aguas Calientes and visit of Machu Picchu.: transfer to railway station, train trip to Aguas Calientes , bus to Machu Picchu fortress, visit of Machu Picchu, lunch, return by bus to Aguas Calientes and train to Cusco, transfer to hotel

Cu 03: Magic “Cusco - Machu Picchu - Sacred Valley"( 05 days / 04 nights )

In addition to the program Cu 02, you will have one additional day in Machu Picchu, staying one night at Aguas Calientes, the village in the Vilcanote/Urubamba valley at the foots of the Machu Picchu fortress.

Day 01 :

• In the morning, flight from Lima to Cusco (1 hour), pick up at the airport in Cusco, transfer to the hotel.
• In the afternoon you have a City tour, including the surrounding fortresses of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo and Tambomachay.

 

Day 02 :

Cu 04: Inca trail I ( 04 days / 03 nights from Cusco )

Day 01 - 03 :

With bus from Cusco to km 88 of the railroad to Machu Picchu. From there you walk three days (5 – 8 hours each day) on the old Inca trail to Machu Picchu staying at night in tents.

Day 04 :

After visiting Machu Picchu, you return in the afternoon by train to Cusco.

With train from Cusco to km 104 of the railrod to Machu Picchu. From there you walk (6 hours) to Machu Pichu and with bus down to the hotel in the village Aguas Calientes. On the second day visit to Machu Picchu and return by train in the afternoon to Cusco.

Cu 07: Tipon – Andahualillas – Piquillacta (“Valle sur”) ( 1/2 days from Cusco )

A tour with bus or private car to the Tipon ruins, the colonial village of Oropesa (famous for its bread, baked in colonial ovens), pre-Inca ruins of Piquillacta and to the village of Andahualillas, with its famous church known as the “Sixtine chapel” (4 hours).
